PROJECTS
From cattle to rabbits, click here for the livestock projects your Dripping Springs club has to offer.
CDM is an academic competition held in conjunction with major livestock shows in which teams compete together, and individually, to solve a series of consumer shopping problems. The competition requires analytical and critical reasoning skills, mathematics, and poise under pressure. Click here to know more.
The Texas 4-H Public Speaking project page is located here: https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/public-speaking/ This is a great place to explore all the project has to offer. Contestants at 4-H Roundup present a 5-7 minute speech on a topic that relates to youth. Junior High and High School Consumer Decision Making competitors are required to provide a verbal defense of their reasoning.
Our 4-H participants have the opportunity to participate in various competitions such as Hays County Roundup. Click here to discover the opportunities our 4-H cooking project has for you!
Our photography projects will allow participants to learn how to properly utilize camera and camera equipment to take the most memorable photos. On-site visits and tours will provide plenty of material to photograph.
DOG TRAINING
Mixed breed or purebred, all kinds of dogs are welcome in the 4-H Dog Care and Training Project. You can have a better, well-mannered family member in about 6 weeks with our basic obedience training class. After obedience training, you can set your sights on Canine Good Citizenship Certification.
You will also learn about daily care and health of your dog, and being a “dog foster parent.” Even community service and competition you can do with your dog. Most important of all is having fun as you build a bond with your dog and make friends who love dogs too!
